In 2011 Spain will host for the second time a World Youth Day. The first was in 1989 at the historical shrine of Santiago de Compostela and in 2011 it will be held in Madrid.Due to the huge success of World Youth Day, the event will now be held at an interval of every three years.Despite his advanced age of 81, Pope Benedict XVI dropped a strong hint that he expects to be in Madrid in 2011, telling the youth in Sydney, "I look forward to seeing you in three years time."
Join millions of other young Catholics from all over the world in an inspiring spiritual celebration of life and faith culminating in an awe-inspiring Mass with the Pope. The Madrid World Youth Day event will be held from 15 - 21 August 2011.
