Indonesia - Bali Lombok Flores & Nusa Tenggara

Bali is an idyllic island, encircled by turquoise waters boasting white sand beaches and upscale boutique hotels. The interior of the island is lush and green with vast terraced rice fields, mountains and volcanoes. The hospitality is unrivalled and the rich artistic heritage can be seen in the exquisite batik paintings and intricate wood carvings. The main tourist locations are in the southern district of Kuta with it's suburbs of Legian, Seminyak, Sanur, Nusa Dua and Jimbaran. In Central Bali, the international village of Ubud is more into culture, yoga and nature set ampongst picturesque rice terraces, forests and mountain streams. More secluded area around Lovina on the north coast are certainly worth visiting.

Lombok is a sought after destination by adventure seekers, divers, surfers, beachgoers and mountain lovers. Mount Rinjani is one of the three sacred mountains of Indonesia with three trekking routes to the peak. For those less energetic, why not visit the stunning lakes and waterfalls dotted around the base of the mountain, explore Mataram town or the potteries in Banyumelek Village. Sukarara Village is the largest songket production centre in Lombok

The famous three, Gili Trewangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air, have become favourite destinations for sun lovers. Gili Trewangan is also renowned as a party paradise destination whereas Gili Air and Gili Meno are the best places to escape and savour the peace, quiet and solitude with their white sandy beaches. There are no less than 25 diving spots over the 3 Gilis. The Gili Islands can be accessed by boat from Lombok (30 minutes) or Bali.

From Bali you can sail eastward to Nusa Tenggara. The islands in the west may be considered paradise for water sport lovers, particularly snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing. A special attraction on the Gili Islands the the existence of blue reefs that are only found here and in the Caribbean Sea. One of the popular trekking sites of the region is Mount Rinjani, the second highest volcanic mountain in Indonesia after Mount Kerinci in Sumatra.
The Komodo Dragon is the largest ancient lizard in the world that can only be found in its natural habitat in Indonesia. Komodo Island is a 1 hour boat ride from Labuan Bajo. The island also features a unique pink sandy beach. Flores, a long island located between Sumbawa and Timor, is strewn with volcanoes in a mountain chain dividing it into several regions with distinctive languages and traditions, scenic beauty, good beaches, and natural wonders. The name is Portuguese for "flower", as the Portuguese were the first Europeans to colonize East Nusa Tenggara.
West Timor has approximately 1.6 million inhabitants. who are mostly of Malay, Papuan or Polynesian origin, with a tiny ethnic Chinese group. The main religions are Catholic (56%), Protestant (35%) and Muslim (8%).Kupang is the capital of West Timor. It is a very Indonesian town with its buzzing bemos and honking horns. West Timor's landscape has spiky lontar palms, rocky soils and central hills dotted with villages of beehive-shaped huts. It also has fantastic coastlines.
